Job Cost Tracker
Live job cost tracking for construction projects.
Log costs as work happens and close out progress payments in minutes. See live budget vs actual on every cost item. Share a clean dashboard with owners and team members, no accounts required on their end.
We built FieldWorks because we needed it.
Ontario Engineering Solutions has managed budgets on construction projects where the financial picture only became clear at monthly progress payment review. By then, overages were baked in, savings went unverified, and disputes over unit rates and lump sums took weeks to untangle. We needed to see the financial health of a project in real time, and to give owners the same visibility without waiting on us.
So we built a job cost tracker that does what we actually needed: log costs as they happen, show live budget vs actual totals, and share a dashboard owners can check themselves. Simple enough for field teams, detailed enough for progress payment verification.
FieldWorks is a product of Ontario Engineering Solutions Inc.
The old way doesn't work anymore.
Progress payments are the first time you know you’re over budget. By then the costs are already sunk and there’s no time to act.
Log costs as work happens. Live budget vs actual is on screen every time a cost is entered, so overages surface while there’s still time to react.
Contingency draws and over-budget costs accumulate quietly across dozens of cost items until the buffer is gone and nobody saw it coming.
Every cost item shows base budget, contingency, and spent to date on its own line. The moment any item crosses total budget, an alert surfaces on the dashboard.
Unit quantities, time and materials, trucking tickets, lump sums, and owner allowances each get tracked in their own spreadsheet or ledger, so nothing rolls up cleanly.
One log, five cost types. Each with its own appropriate fields. Unit quantity, time and materials, trucking ticket, lump sum, and allowance drawdowns all feed one unified total on the dashboard.
Owner allowances get drawn down in the general ledger without anyone watching the remaining balance, and the first surprise comes at close-out.
Allowance drawdowns log against the pool with every entry. Remaining balance is visible on the dashboard so owners and PMs see exactly what’s left.
Trucking tickets pile up in the truck cab, get rained on, and disappear before anyone codes them to a cost item.
Snap a photo, log the ticket in seconds, and attach the evidence directly to the cost item from the field.
Time and materials hours get written on paper timesheets at the end of the day and never make it back to the office coded to the right cost item.
Log T&M hours against the cost item from the field in seconds. Labor, equipment, and material line items with per-role rates. Nothing goes uncoded.
Photos of site conditions and receipts live on random phones, emails, and text threads. Nobody can find the right one during a progress payment dispute.
Attach photos and files to every log entry. The evidence lives with the cost, not scattered across five apps.
From field log to live dashboard.
